Monckeydom

Here is a stage where all in life is just flat, you can’t really tell the difference between things. Your life surrounds you and entangles you… You know that you should be in control, but you don’t even know where to start, there are no clear boundaries, spaces or defined objects, everything feels like a hive of buzzing molecules. All you have are raw materials…   The Dark Towers is on the other side of Monckeydom. This artwork is part of the "Sculptings" portfolio. View Portfolio in PDF (13 Mb)

Honeymilk

Similar to The Dark Towers and Monckeydom, Honeymilk and Swan Song are on opposite sides of the same paper and also involve a struggle. While the former refer to dynamism, the latter reveal a struggle between interior and exterior nurturance, and finding peace and personal space in between the two. Any amount of success in this balance drips down into the heart hanging from the base of the painting. This artwork is part of the "Sculptings" portfolio. View Portfolio in PDF (13 Mb)

Tchaikovsky

To me, Tchaikovsky is like an aesthetic musical score that notates a series of events, thoughts and experiences with a code of color, texture and shape. It is like the record of a harmonious day or relationship where each part is understood, appreciated and given space to fit into the whole. I wanted to create an apparently meaningful grid that is covertly logical and not fully understandable, but that gives you the feeling you might understand a part of it….after the explanation.  It is an illustration of my search for meaning. The Mastermind

Symphony No. 6 in G plants   I feel the growing.I am the growing! But where are the fruits?I see seeds, millions of seeds..        "Just trust"Can I eat the seeds?!Ok....wait,There is beauty here. The peas are plumping!...I ate so many peas...I hate peas. But look...plants are nice, There is something nourishing in their greenness, There is a desire to give in them..They urge me, With their calming, expectant essences,A movement inward….no! no! no!Quiet power dispels fear.Look how they present to us;Beauty and stillness.Ok...I accept.Nature succeeds, she is always elegance,Poise and Plump. The Mastermind is about control, power, and how the right kind of power can make things flourish. The painting is also about a meditative, still state, as well as cooperation and a state of harmony.One-legged Circulator is on the other side of The Mastermind. One-legged Circulator

Murdering Depression   Get it OUT!Is it endless? This Purging?Oh I see,The feeling of endless stuffingIs the bad feeling I have. The swirl of stone,In my guts:It must all come out!My centuries alert me,to each disturbance,And I faithfully comply:I sit and feel it,Death,I see horror and impossible grief. Then like a worm, or some foul insect,It pops out and swims away,Flipping its tail spitefully,Leaving its homeopathic venomTo be contemplated...And the fire rages on!   One-legged Circulator is the subconscious mind, like a big raging seed, or coil of seeds. Spewing things out, taking things in, hopefully a process full of healing and catharsis, but this is the fire part of the process, the destruction before the regeneration. The Mastermind is on the other side of One-legged Circulator. Kites and Fishing

Riding highOn spindly towers of thought,Chaos rains! But I study weather patterns...Gathering cluesBecome notesOn high.I'm watched.I am the watcher, too.I watch myself thinkSome crazy, sad things. But it's not even like that, really,It's more like emotions, churning,Born of thoughts,Whirling behind my eyes, andCreating a cloud of storm,Hanging around me.Fogs and deliriumAll above. Not just blinding me,I can't even see straightWith my brain! I need windshield wipers,And a battle helmet.I need a mop and a spear.I need the reins and a pedicure. And definitely a cup of coffee. We're hunting the fear beast!!Emily, Sara and Molly,Ghosts and old stories,In diaphanous war.But now, stay on the defense,They can't come close,Anymore,Against these fresh arrows. The body of evidence isToo strong.I declare dominance. In Kites and Fishing people can explore jumping on thought balloons, greenhouses, swings, restaurants, farmer's markets - This is a new kind of theme park for the mind. And then there's the other side of creating, "Fishing" - the effort involved.Helicity is on the other side of Kites and Fishing. This artwork is part of the "Sculptings" portfolio. The Dark Towers

Monckeydom and The Dark Towers are on opposite sides of the same paper and as such they represent two opposing sides, the internal and the external struggles, respectively. These struggles build tension within themselves, but as the inner and outer turmoil come together the heightened tension needs a release, and the sculpture above the paintings is the channel for this process.
